De Havilland Puss Moth Amy Johnson Mollison G-AAZV 1931. Amy flew this aircraft named 'Jason II' from UK to Tokyo and return in a series of record breaking flights. During WW II she enlisted in the ATA ferrying RAF aircraft about the country. On the 5 January 1941 she became lost in a night flight, bailing out to land in the freezing waters of the Thames Estuary. Attempts to rescue her failed and her body was never found.
